Atlanta Botanical Gardens – The Holiday Lights.
I’m loving the lights at the gardens, but wanted to experiment with the light trails instead of just the regular photos of holiday lights.

The Lantern Parade is on its 5th year and it’s getting bigger and bigger each year. This is my first year going, so my lanterns were no where up to par as what I photographed here. Next year, I will be more ready! Since it’s such a huge thing in the Asian culture, and I grew up attending the Mid-Autumn festivals at my church every year, this was a must see festival for me! According to Wikipedia, the mid-autumn festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese and Vietnamese calendars, during a full moon, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar, within 15 days of the autumnal equinox. The festivals celebrate family, community, a good harvest, and a prosperous life.
The walk on the Beltline is absolutely amazing. There are no cars, so everyone is a pedestrian or cyclist. There are lots of dogs and puppies walking the path with their owners and plenty of restaurants/bars to stop in for a bite to eat or a good cocktail.

We took the Marta into the city today to photograph the city and to just walk through Piedmont Park and Midtown, Atlanta. We stopped in many different neighborhoods, went in search of Highland Bakery only to find it closed at 5 pm, and then walked through most of Piedmont Park. My feet are killing me [need to wear my converse next time I do this walk], but this picture really captures today. We walked for miles and miles through the city, the high rises all looming over us, coffee shops everywhere, the hustle of the Friday traffic against the early weekend starters.

Summer walks on the Chattahoochee with a good cup of coffee and cute pet are the best. Bring a good book and chill out on the lawn of the coffee shop that borders the river too. I love this place, in all seasons!! People are starting to kayak, go tubing down the river, or just swim!

We all signed up for the Color Fun Fest 5k at Turner Field here in Atlanta. The day was beautiful, but the race didn’t start until 7 pm. We went to an early dinner of delicious pho and then headed over to the field. On the way there, thunder erupted, followed by the biggest downpour we’ve ever seen. Our spirits were still high, attempting to keep the kids still amped for the 5k…but the rain literally beat down on us. We arrived to the very empty parking lot, gathered up the courage and energy to run out into the rain and throw color everywhere as if we had finished the whole 5K!
I really think we would have ran the whole race instead of just the first part if it wasn’t getting so cold and we didn’t want the kids to get sick. Nonetheless, everyone was in good spirits jumping in puddles and getting soaked in the rain!

Back again at the Chattahoochee River Trails for some spring blooms. We took Dana here and went off the beaten path for a bit. The spring bloom is starting. Everything is much greener than the last post of the Chattahoochee Trails Winter. I love the change in seasons so here is the next set of pictures bringing in spring.
