We needed to get our friend Ali to LAX, but we made a few pit stops along the way. Ali was going to Michigan where it was snowing non-stop, and he didn’t have a chance to hit the beach while he was here in California, so we made a quick pit stop to Manhattan Beach.

I went to Atlanta to spend Thanksgiving week. It was an amazing week with close friends whom I now consider family too. To many more memories made with some very wonderful people. Cheers!

I only got to attend Comic Con on Sunday, but it was nice to walk through the convention center without too much pressure to get everything in. I’m a veteran here, so I parked far, tram or walk in, and stroll the place photographing cool costumes and people when I see them. I love that they are so gracious with photographers, and always willing to pose for me.

Yelp Elite organized an event at the OC Fairgrounds today. They let us all in to have bites from some of the places inside the OC Fair. Afterwards, we got free admission into the fairgrounds for the day. I wandered through the fair early in the morning and got this much softer and quieter view of the normally insane fairgrounds.

This nice man joined me at the table I was sitting across from this hamburger stand. He asked about my camera, and then told me that this stand belonged to him. He and his wife were so sweet and he even showed me the behind-the-scenes of all these food stands at the fair. They work so hard year around, travelling from fairground to fairground, setting up each time to make this business work.

A few weeks ago, I went out with my friend Leanne of Sargeant Creative so that she could shoot some double exposure shots on her wonderful Fujix100s. I did not know at the time that my own Canon 5d Mark iii has that same feature until she told me. I finally had some personal reflection time today and took my camera out to test this feature. I looked for pink hues in the flowersbecause I wanted to have a Japanese influence in these photos. I’m so happy with how the first batch came out. doubleexposure04   doubleexposure05   doubleexposure01   doubleexposure03

Leanne of Sargeant Creative wanted to experiment with some double exposure photography on her new Fujix100s. When she called me to spend the day with her, I jumped on the chance to learn about this project she was working on for the Violet Hour’s Art Show. She shot everything on manual settings, and these are straight out of the camera frames, no photoshop at all.   I learned all kinds of fun tricks and I can’t wait to experiment with this feature on the Canon 5d Mark iii as well!

Although my family did a Thanksgiving lunch with Korean BBQ and shrimp BBQ on Thursday, my cousin Tien and I wanted to do our own Thanksgiving this year for the kids in the family the night before. On Wednesday, we set out to cook this 15 lb turkey, make mash potatoes with our own gravy from the turkey jus, yams with marshmallows  brussel sprouts with bacon, and our own turkey stuffing with fresh bread. I think we did a pretty good job, and I’m sad I didn’t get a picture of Tien and her turkey. She spent a lot of time prepping the night before cleaning the bird out, stuffing it with yummy fruits and flavors, and cutting the vegetables. When I came home from work, I made the mash potatoes, the brussel spouts, and finished decorating the table. Here are the results!
